SWEET BITE AT PAPABUBBLE BARCELONA
While craving for some sweets I stumbled upon Papabubble again. After the first shop opening in Barcelona 6 years ago, they have grown to 6 in some major cities.
You could break your teeth on this candy and it is definitely unhealthy. But it looks soooo good. They are like candy art and so colourful, I would leave the shop with a provision for the coming 6 months!
Below some impressions to tantalize!

OHWOW BOOK CLUB NEW YORK
Aaron “A-ron” Bondaroff and art collector Al Moran ( Creative directors of OHWOW) opened a new retail outlet in the basement of New York’s West Village.
The basement boutique offers a sneak peek of the downtown New York art scene, from Clayton Patterson’s Front Door Book to Neckface’s The Devil Made Me Do It. At 150 sq ft, this pocket-sized store was conceived by de Cárdenas to echo a classic black and white, pre-war NYC bathroom.
In the neighbourhoud? Definitely worth to check this out!

From 25 June to 17 July 2010 the exhibition DYSFASHIONAL will be presented in Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt. After Luxembourg, Lausanne and Paris, this exhibition in the context of fashion and art now also takes place in Berlin.
A good place to go to get some inspiration and for some shade or cooler temperatures as the temperature in Berlin is rising to tropical degrees!

PRECINCT 5 AMSTERDAM
Opened in 2009 this former police station in the heart of the city is transformed into a dangerously addicting shop by 3 creative men that thought it was time for a never-before-seen concept.
Precinct 5 offers a range of sneakers, music and some serious denim all chosen by the tastes of DJ Mr. Wix, sneaker paradise Patta, and the music moguls from Massive Music.
Definitely worth to check out when visiting Amsterdam!

THE BARBER IS BACK IN NYC
Remember the old fashioned Barber, good for shaving and standard Hairdo’s, is nowadays second choice after the new cool and state-of-the-art hairdressers that open its doors everywhere around the corner. However this Barber could turn out to be the ‘IT’ place in the East Village of NYC.
Don’t get mislead by the small white shop and the empty barber chair if the sliding door is opened you will be able to see a charming cocktail lounge bar.
The Blind Barber invites you to come for the cuts or straight-razor shaves and will keep you there for the cocktails and many planned parties.

DMY AT BERLIN STARTS TODAY

Yesterday I got already a small teaser for the upcoming international design festival, DMY in Berlin. At Torstraße 72, a small in-shop exhibition opened it’s doors with a great outdoor party (Finally summer weather)! ‘My Bauhaus Is Better Than Yours’ is a group of young designers that all picked up some Bauhaus influences during their studies and translated the style in their designs.
DMY’s main venue is situated in the old airport, Tempelhof, a beautiful location where many designer (or designer aficionado, like you) can walk around, network and enjoy all innovative ideas of other designers. It will be a full program from today until Sunday 13 June with symposiums, exhibitions, workshops and a lot of parties.

FAVELA PAINTING, RIO DE JANEIRO
A great and interesting example using art as a tool to inspire young people, living in slums or poor neighbourhouds in Rio de Janeiro. Haas&Hahn are known for their different art projects in Brasil where they invite youth to work with them on the project to teach them new skills and try to keep them from the streets.
As said by the foundation: “The Firmeza Foundation supports the creation of striking artworks in unexpected places. It collaborates with local people to use art as a tool to inspire, create beauty, combat prejudice and attract attention.”
We can not agree more that it definitely attracts attention and we believe these two guys are doing a real good job in making the world (Brasil) more beautiful, bit by bit. Check the images below for their most recent project: Santa Marta.
Or their website for more projects.
